My family has always celebrated the holiday by attending Easter eve mass and then doing something family oriented on Easter Sunday (like fishing or board games). But once Brandon and I got together, holidays and traditions started to change a bit. We now celebrate Thanksgiving at Brandon's sisters, Christmas at my parents and Easter at our place.
Here is a recap of our first Easter (last year):
The Easter Bunny visited and left a trail of candy for our little nephew!
The EB left toys at the end of the trail..
..and Aunt Annie really needed a haircut.
We made pork tenderloin, grilled salmon, a beautiful salad and fruit pizza and it was a success.
Woot.
I have been so excited to host again this year that I've been pulling out all the stops.. and where better to get fun, inexpensive decorations than from your local thrift store?!
This is soooo colorful and festive--perfect to hang outside! (Goodwill, $2.99)
Have I ever mentioned how much I love the dollar section at Target? They have such cute holiday swag--I picked up this adorable knob hanger for $1!

Speaking of Target, I heard that the Easter Bunny picked up a few things for Ben and Sara (our nephew and niece) in the dollar section..
We got both Easter baskets, packages of unopened Easter grass and a bag of assorted Easter eggs for $3.50 at the Salvation Army.. can't beat that!
We are still waiting to hear back on whether or not we got the duplex we've been wanting forever.. our tiny, tiny townhouse just isn't cutting it anymore so I'm praying we get the place and can be moved in by Easter. If/when that happens, I'll be posting more of my spring decoration finds from G-Dub!
