The '7 Ingredients to a Happy Marriage' Wedding Shower Gift

I've been meaning to post this for awhile..

If you're a regular follower of my blog, you know that I had my tea party wedding shower last month--and it was wonderful! Brandon and I received so many thoughtful gifts that we will use for years to come.

One of those gifts gave me a good chuckle.

My dear friend/bridesmaid Abby made me a "7 Ingredients to a Happy Marriage" kit. She said the idea came to her when she was thinking about what to get--she knew I loved to cook so she began to think about 'ingredients,' which led to ingredients for a happy marriage. Abby has been married for three months now and these are a few of the tricks she's picked up so far.

Yellow gloves--to clean up terrible boy messes.
Air freshener--the quick fix to get rid of boy scent.
Ear plugs--for when you can no longer listen to 'blah, blah, blah'
Advil PM--for the nights you "have a headache" and must go to sleep.
Squirt Bottle--a creative way to say "no" or "put that down".
Midol--this one was a gift for Brandon..
And finally, Wine and wine glasses--for spending time together. Always remember to love, laugh, cry and pray together.

Abby wrote all of the ingredients and the reason for them on a card. She ended it by saying "With these ingredients, you two will have no problems for years to come."

Oh, I love this girl.
The gift is adorable and everyone at the shower got a big kick out of it. You can personalize/customize it for the couple you're giving it to--or just use Abby's idea!

  8. It was a very creative as well as a thoughtful gift. The ideas and reasons may be a little funny, but the gift items by themselves are pretty useful stuffs that you’ll actually need now and then. I’m having trouble deciding what gift to get for my cousin, as she’ll be tying the knot next month at one of the amazing Seattle Wedding venues.
