A Boy and His Cat

Do you remember your first pet?

For me, it was a Great Dane (the size of a horse) named Lexy.

For Jax, it's a cat (the size of a dog) named Bitsy.

Jackson just adores Bitsy and Bitsy is so gentle and patient with little Jax. God definitely knew what he was doing when he brought Bitsy into our lives--she is seriously the perfect pet for us and completes our family.

I have a feeling these two are going to grow to be best buds (as soon as Jackson learns the concept of "gentle")!

  2. So darned cute, so sweet for both of them. Did any body warn you about leaving a cat with a baby? I was but had nothing to fear.
When I had last child our cat was fascinated with her. First few weeks she was kept in a mesh topped bassinet. He'd sneak down the hall to watch her in her bassinet. One time she was asleep on bed and he went into room, up on bed and laid right next to her whole time she was sleeping. He'd watch over her all the time. My in laws kepttelling me it was dangerous, the cat would smother her but he never touched her just laid right beside her on bed or couch and watched her. He was an exceptional cat anyway. When our baby was 7 weeks old we moved back to Tucson from Co. springs and left cat with our neighbor. He was totally freaked about being put in a carrier or near moving truck.
My oldest daughter rode with me in a 69 Mustang fast back with baby in bassinet in back seat, the legs came down on bassinet. Hubs drove uhaul with both boys riding with him. It was hard to leave our wonderful kitty behind but not much room in Mustang for cat carrier or in the Uhaul. He had shown up one day and adopted us, the kids were all crazy about any pets.
Those photos you have of your cat with baby are priceless, you'll enjoy showing baby (when he's bigger) how Bitsy watched over him. Loved photo with you and great dane, wouldn't you love to know what he thought about you? Happy week
